The Iles Formula Signature Hair Twilly in Passionnée began in Paris, where Noémie Lacroix, a French artist with the Spaceless Gallery, took the Iles Formula identity and turned it into a print of her own — one of just three designs in a limited-edition collaboration born of founder Wendy Iles’s long habit of championing young artists.

The print lives on a ribbon of 100% silk, handmade in France. The silk is the point: it ties smoothly, without the grip and pull of an elastic, and it drapes the way only the real thing does. Each twilly arrives gift-boxed in Iles Formula’s traditional white packaging with the embossed logo, which makes it one of those rare objects that is a finished gift the moment it leaves the shelf.
