Liis Candle Choux Choux

Some scents just make a room feel cared for. Choux Choux is one of them. LIIS built it around choux à la crème, the airy French cream puff, and named it after chouchou, the word founder Alissa grew up hearing at home for “darling.” That warmth is exactly what you get when the wick catches: citrus peel and fresh cream lift first, like something sweet just came out of the oven, then vanilla bean and fleur de sel caramel settle in soft and buttery. Underneath, sandalwood, cocoa, and mocha give it a grown-up depth so it reads as pastry-shop cozy, never sugary.

It’s a hand-poured blend of soy and coconut wax with a single cotton wick, so the burn stays clean and even and the throw fills a room without shouting. At 8 oz you get somewhere around 50 to 60 hours, which is a lot of quiet evenings. We keep one lit at the front of the studio during color and extension appointments, and it’s the candle guests ask about by name before they’ve even settled into the chair.

How to Use

On the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the glass, usually two to three hours. This sets an even pool and keeps it from tunneling. Trim the cotton wick to about a quarter inch before each light for a steady, soot-free flame, and burn no more than four hours at a stretch. Keep it away from drafts, and always burn on a heat-safe surface within sight.
